Lutheran Worship Since 1703-
As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Zion Lutheran has been a vital presence in the community since the Dutch settled these shores more than 300 years ago. Its first pastor, Justus Faulkner, was the first Protestant clergyman to be ordained in America. Since that time, Zion has served as a missionary outpost for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its Lutheran expression.
Our Mission Statement-
Our mission continues to be a faithful telling of God’s costly love for the world. Our message, reflective of the lighthouse which graces our village, is that God’s Son has illuminated our darkness. Through Christ we enjoy the benefits of renewed life, health, and salvation. This is how we understand ourselves to be “evangelical”, that is, bearers of Good News. Through Word and Sacraments we celebrate God’s gracious presence among us, and gather in prayer, praise and thanksgiving.
